As somone who was raised a Catholic and, as someone who has a rational intelligent mind, I found the cognitive dissonance unbearable. I genuinely think teaching religious dogma to children should be considered child abuse, not least when the child has an active disinterest in religion (at 3 years old coming into church late apparently I said to my mum "if this is god's house, why is he never here". I also suffered from depression and confusion at the supposedly everlasting concept of heaven however when I learned infinity in mathematics suddenly it all made sense! Catholicism (UK catholicism at any rate) is one of the least bad theocentric religions out there but it still has a huge amount to ask for with the societal damage it has helped create. And FYI antitheists like me watch videos like this so we're primed for answers to the religious fabrications on their semblance on truth!

Our old parish Priest when i lived in the west country, Fr. Frank was a missionary in Argentina for many years. I had occasion to go to a protestant church where some folk writhed about in ecstacy, and shake, eyes rolled in the back of the head and even some would talk in gibberish. It made me rather uncomfortable. So I asked Fr. Frank what to make of it. He Said he had encountered such things in Argentina, and always remembered what the Bishop of Beuonos Aires said, and with that he said a phrase in Spanish. Not being a person who speaks Spanish, I asked him what he had said, to which he replied, "God save us from these heathens!" 😂

What's brilliant about a catholic church that allowed and covered up child rape, has done since their filthy religion was invented. Where this god? Even this gods true believers get no help! They die in floods and earthquakes and fires and war and from droughts and hunger and disease . Where's this god? Not a lot of prayers being answered here! Babies born with diseases, what have they done? Where was this god when Hitler appeared, or Stalin or Mao or the Apartheid murderers. Why would this all caring god allow racism and slavery and its pain and suffering? Children included. Religion is poison, mindless incoherent worship something that doesn't exist. Only hope and faith. Neither is fact.

No such thing as brilliant catholic anything! Torture, anti science, the antithesis of logic, they aided the worst of the Nazi war criminals like Mengele to escape justice, stood by while gods representatives on earth, namely priests and clergy and bishops allowed and covered up child rape and abuse, the same church that invests in the armaments industry, the same church that is worth billions of dollars in real estate. A lying phony collection of criminals since day one. They make Stalin and Hitler look like kindergarten teachers. Mother Theresa! A cruel and nasty person. Accepting money from dictators like the DuVallier criminals in Haiti. Catholic perversion and sickening hipocracy.

I once walked into a flat with several presbyterians, a non-denom and an anglican to celebrate the non-denom's birthday. First thing that came to mind was "who wants to lead in the rosary?" The looks I got...
